Community Champion Awards
Halifax Mainland North Volunteer Recognition Committee
To be eligible for a Champion Awards, a group must meet the following criteria:
- Be a not-for-profit individual, club, group or organization active in the local community during for at least 12 months
- Provide a reference letter from a community leader (external to the organization) supporting the work of the volunteer group
- Activities must fit into one of the Award categories
- Inspires and enables others to work together to meet needs in their community
- Demonstrate a driving force behind community service
- Help make a positive difference in the community
- Help meet a community or individual need
- Involve active collaboration and engagement with others
- Challenging
- Motivating
- Strengthened neighborhoods
- Leadership qualities within the community
