Passport and Travel
Passports
Passport Canada is the federal government agency responsible for passport services. Its responsibilities include issuing, revoking, withholding, recovering and providing instructions on the use of Canadian passports. Types of passports issued include regular, frequent traveller, special and diplomatic passports.
A Canadian passport is one of the safest and most secure travel documents in the world. Unlike a birth certificate or driver's licence, a passport can be replaced if it is lost or stolen on your trip.Applying for a passport is straightforward – especially for those who happen to live in a city, like Halifax, where there is a Passport Office. If you are able to deliver your completed application form and all of the supporting documentation to the local Passport Office, you can have your passport in only 10 working days. (In an emergency situation you can have it, for an added fee, in as little as one day).

The most efficient way to obtain an application for a passport is to download the application from www.ppt.gc.ca. This site also gives you very valuable information on how to fill out your application. Of course, you can call the constituency office at 426-2217 and we would be happy to send you out a passport package. Travel Reports & Warnings
